Our Purpose:
Flewellin Memorial Library serves the community by providing access to books, information, technology, and programs that support reading, learning, and enrichment.
Office and Location:
The Library operates one location at 108 W. Comanche Avenue, Shabbona, IL 60550. It has no additional offices or branches.
Staffing:
The Library employs two part-time staff members: a Library Director and a Library Assistant. It has no full-time employees. Members of the Board of Trustees serve without compensation.
Operating Budget:
The Library’s total operating budget for fiscal year 2026–2027 is $79,034.81. Budgeted funding includes $35,581.29 from property taxes, with the remaining $43,453.52 coming from grants and other funding sources.

The Library Board of Trustees generally meets the second Monday of every month at 6:30 PM at the library. The public is welcome.
